Konstantinos Petrakis

Design Exchange Partnerships 2024

Konstantinos Petrakis is a Research and Teaching Associate at the department of Design Manufacturing and Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

His doctorate explores new prototyping roles through design thinking and has previously undertaken research work in a range of other areas. These include exploration of haptic feedback and intuitive interactions in Mixed Reality design reviews and testing and analysis of controllers in the delivery of novel Virtual Reality rehabilitation solutions, notably in the EU Horizon 2020 project PRIME-VR2.

Konstantinos will be the Research Associate for the AHRC’s Design Exchange Partnership project “Designing a bio-sensitive visualisation for saltmarsh conservation”, which will be aimed at developing a Biodiversity Digital Twin, for measuring, monitoring and communicating the long-term impact of coastal protection systems. Through collaborating with SAML, he will be responsible for delivering project milestones and providing expertise in terms of planning and adoption of prototyping approaches and iterative design development, along with the application of human-centred design methods.
