Alys is an architectural researcher, designer, and writer.
Through the lens of climate, Alys’s research engages with material-spatial politics: pollution, extraction, and remediation within our shifting material and social landscapes.
Between the wetland and the city, her work is focused on bio-regional waste streams, the hydrocommons, and regenerative material practices, learning how bog restoration sits in tandem with flood mitigation, and carbon education as communities set their course for decarbonisation.
Alys is currently studying on the Spatial Practices MArch at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). While on placement at Future Observatory, she has responded to the 2024 Design Researchers in Residence Solar display through Wonky Brick, a film that maps the landscapes of material re-use in building and construction in the UK .
